MEET NATALIE STRAFFORD

HTF DANCE INSTRUCTOR

Natalie is excited to be sharing her love of dance with the students at Hit The Floor this season!

A Florida native and mommy to her adventurous little boy, Natalie has enjoyed being a dance studio owner, instructor and choreographer for 24 years in our beautiful SWFL community.  Her strong ballet background studying under Barbro and Robert Roland, paved the way for her teaching the many styles she teaches today.

Natalie has taken her students to perform multiple times at the Orange Bowl Halftime Show, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC, Miami Dolphins Halftime Shows, Disney World parades and many local performances throughout our community.

In addition to dance studio life, theater has been a big part of her background choreographing and teaching for many local organizations, studios, and theaters such as Naples Philharmonic Pops Concert, Naples Players KidzAct, Island Theater Company, SWFL Children’s Theater, and Recreation Tappers to name a few.

Dance Class Questions

At what age do our classes start?

Our classes start at 2 years old!

What is a combo class?
A combo class means your dancer is learning 2 dance styles during class and the 2 styles rotate every week.
Example: One week we do tap and the next is acrobatics.

Can my dancer come in for a FREE TRIAL?
YES! Your dancer needs to love the environment and connect with the teacher. The bond between both is very important as this enhances your dancer’s experience within the classroom. Contact us and we’d be happy to welcome you in!

OUR STUDENTS LOVE US!

“Tammy is an incredible teacher and mentor, and was most certainly to me as a young student. The discipline and drive she instilled in me to always go further than my expectations of myself has had a huge influence in the professional and person I am today. I was always inspired by her abilities as a coach and teacher, and trusted in her so much as a student. I knew she would push me in all the right directions, and then ask for more once I got to where she wanted, because she believed in my strengths and capabilities. I carry the tools and lessons I’ve learned from Tammy into my own classes when I teach now, and I am so very grateful for the role she has played in shaping me as a dancer, and the many many lucky others. She is someone who teaches you not to strive to be your best for her, but for you, and that is a lesson to hold close!”

Mariah Gravelin

Mariah is an amazing former student from CT who received her BFA from Fordham University, studied BFA program at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and now a member of Limon Dance Company.

“Growing up, I had one dance teacher that changed my life. She saw the potential in me that no other dance teacher had seen. Tammy challenged me to give 110% every single rehearsal. She never lost faith in me, and constantly pushed me to be a better dancer week after week. Once I had her, I became a much better dancer and was starting to get noticed by the rest of my teachers and peers. It was not about being recognized though; Tammy truly made me become passion about dance, something I now do not think I could live without.”

Kelsey Finocchiaro

Kelsey is a prior student from New Jersey who became a dancer for the New Orleans Saints (NFL), New Orleans Pelicans (NBA), performed with Beyonce /Destiny's Child at The Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show and now owns her own business called Finnish STRONG Fitness.

“Tammy is one of the most incredible people I’ve ever met. Her kindness and dedication to helping her students in unparalleled.  All my life I trained in ballet and when Miss Tammy came to teach, she changed our lives for the best. With new genres being taught, we were able to find a new side of dance and ourselves. I learned so much about pushing myself beyond what I thought was possible as I had to take risks and always give my all.  Miss Tammy is part of the reason my professional life took off and she helped me find my identity as a dancer through her love, support and teachings.”

Tierin-Rose Mandelburg

Tierin was a former student from CT who became a member of the Huntsville Ballet Company.
